Hi, I’m Martin Heckmann. I started out in the hotel business, trained as a hotel management professional, then caught the travel bug and went on to study Tourism and Business Administration in Worms and Montpellier.

Since 1998, I’ve been working in the tech world – with stops at SAP, eBay, Spreadshirt, MyHammer, MOTOR-TALK, and most recently mobile.de, where I led the dealer platform as Head of Product.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: Marketing Manager, Product Owner, Project Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach – but at heart, I’m always drawn to building great products with great people.

The aim of this blog is to share experiences, methods, and best practices from the daily life of a Product Manager. Agility is not just a concept but needs to be practiced and tailored for each specific company. Take action – Put the books aside, send the consultants home, and get started!

Beyond work, I love to explore – new places, new ideas, new ways of doing things. Travel (see also reisalog.de), tennis, hiking, playing the piano or guitar, photography – these are the things that keep me curious and grounded.
